Impossible you say!  

After all, you must have heard about all the benefits of drinking water and how it helps your body stay hydrated, refreshed and helps maintain your skin’s elasticity.

Aqua is the official name of “water” in the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic ingredients – which is basically a fancy way of saying “This is all the stuff that you are putting on your skin with this product”. 

This list displays ingredients in order from the most important in weight (at the top) to the least important in weight (at the bottom).

A skincare cream may contain 60 to 85% of water, while in lotions, shower gels, and shampoos the amount of water may even go up to 95%!

With a list like this that has Water or “Aqua” at the top, you’d think it was the most important or most beneficial ingredient right? The opposite is actually true..

You see the truth is water doesn’t do anything beneficial for your skin.

It is only filler material. The reason? It's cheap and it keep costs down, yet it provides no value, for the end-consumer..for you. 

And what a filler does is “take up space in the product” leaving it with a very low concentration of active ingredients.

So if anything, having water in your products actually hurts you!

Maturing Skin Needs MORE Active Ingredients

Your skin, especially skin that is maturing needs LOTS of active ingredients in high quantities to be healthy and look its best.

This is partially due to the natural body changes that come with age like the loss of hormones due to menopause.

Your skin simply can’t do without supplementing them anymore.

And using water-filled, low-active concentration products simply means you’ll have to buy MORE of the product to get the same result as one with a high concentration. 

It also means that you will have to keep layering products which can cause irritation, inflammation and at its worst..collagen breakdown.
