THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE NOW: 5 Tips to Celebrate the Best of Your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond!
Posted by Tindra Eriksson onAbundant. Overflowing. Copious. Generous. Rich. All overwhelmingly positive adjectives that bring to mind happiness, joy and pleasure.
Another word we happen to like is full.
Quite simply, to us this just means – how did you embrace everything you have to celebrate today, right now, to the fullest?
And this is the essence of what it means to be age-full.
HOW DO WE CELEBRATE AGE-FULLNESS?
Our simple framework encompasses some of best tips, lessons and motivational philosophies to help you celebrate the best things that come with age.
-
Radiate confidence, from the inside-out
Beauty is universal, and it radiates from within. The accessories just change with age. Wear them proudly, and let your unique beauty shine through. After all, our silver hair, our laugh lines, our crow’s feet and our sun spots are really just signs that we laugh, love, and experience life fully! -
Make your own rules
Decide for yourself—here & now—to reject a definition of beauty defined by men, media and multinational beauty companies. Decide that today is better than yesterday, and that tomorrow will be better yet.
-
Embrace pleasure
Pleasure creates joy. Joyfulness can bring all kinds of positive impacts in your daily life, boosting mood, energy, relationships … all helping to release that inner glow. Give yourself permission to embrace pleasure each day, through food, friendships, sex, exercise and anything else that brings passion to your life.
-
Don’t limit yourself
Keep learning. Make bold decisions. Do the unexpected. The retired women in our community are especially inspirational in this—we love hearing their stories about how they finally have time for all of those daily things they always wanted to explore—whether it’s learning a language, practicing yoga, painting or any other myriad life passions!
-
Keep the community going & growing
Dedicate yourself to changing the perception of aging and redefining the definition of what beauty looks like at 50, or 60, or 70! Then recognize that same beauty in others. Encourage other women to celebrate all of the beautiful details about ourselves that show us we lived—and we’re living—fully!
Do you have any other tips? We'd love to hear them! Let us know in the comments below.
Because there’s nothing more beautiful than age- positive women supporting each other to make aging positive.
